01Overview

XO Expansion: Reggaeton is built around the rhythms that define the genre: tight kicks, crisp snares, syncopated hi-hats, and dembow and tresillo patterns. XLN Audio describes the grooves as designed to keep a dance floor moving, in the style of artists such as Daddy Yankee, Bad Bunny and J Balvin. Each beat can be edited in the XO sequencer, so you can work from a finished starting point and reshape it.

03In depth

Grooves, samples and sequencer control

The pack includes 75 reggaeton-flavored presets. Each one is a fully editable sequence in XO, so you can see how the beat is built and change individual parts. The developer says this reveals the anatomy of each groove, which makes it useful for learning how dembow and tresillo patterns are constructed.

The pack also contains 150+ handcrafted, genre-specific one-shot samples. XO can swap sounds for similar samples with one click, and you can switch to sounds from your own collection or filter on a specific range to create variations.

Who the expansion suits

The expansion suits producers who want reggaeton and dembow foundations to start from. The presets are mix-ready, so you can use them as they are or adjust every part of the beat in the sequencer.

Because the sequences are editable and XO generates variations, the pack works as a starting point for original beats rather than a fixed loop library.
