03In depth

Lo-Fi Beat Presets and Sequencer Editing

The pack includes 75 presets flavored for lo-fi production. Unlike a plain sample collection, each preset is a fully editable sequence in XO's sequencer. XLN Audio says this reveals the structure of each beat, so you can study how the groove is built and change individual elements.

XO's engine can also swap sounds for similar samples at the click of a button, or filter on a specific range to generate variations. This gives you a starting point that can be reshaped into your own arrangement.

Samples for Chillhop and Study Beats

The expansion contains more than 150 handcrafted, genre-specific samples. The developer describes them as curated one-shot sounds selected for lo-fi production, covering the kicks, snares and percussion that define the style.

The pack is aimed at chillhop, study beats and mellow head-nodding production. XLN Audio names J Dilla, Nujabes, Knxwledge, Tomppabeats and Idealism as stylistic references for the sound it targets.
