03In depth

Drums and Grooves for K-Pop Production

The pack centers on polished, punchy drum sounds: snares, percussion, tuned 808s and tight hi-hats. XLN Audio positions the sounds for K-pop-inspired productions and names artists such as BTS, BLACKPINK, NCT and NewJeans as reference points for the style.

Because the samples are one-shots tied to genre, they give you a starting kit that already sits in the right territory. The developer notes that the material can be used for pop ballads as well as more aggressive dance tracks.

Editable Sequences in XO

Unlike a standard sample library, each XO Expansion is delivered as fully editable sequences. You can see the structure of each beat and change individual parts inside XO's sequencer.

XO also lets you swap a sound for a similar sample with one click, load your own sounds from your collection, or filter on a specific range to create variations. Every preset can be used as is or adjusted, and the XO engine generates further variations from the same material.
