The pack includes 64 presets spread across basses, guitars, leads, pads, plucks, pianos and vocals, along with MIDI files for melody, chords and bass. 03In depth

Sound Palette and Preset Breakdown

The pack contains 64 Serum presets in seven categories: 5 bass, 2 guitar, 14 lead, 9 pad, 25 pluck, 5 piano and 4 vocal presets. The largest group is plucks, which suits the bright, rhythmic plucked parts common in tropical house arrangements. Leads and pads cover the melodic and harmonic layers, while the bass and piano presets fill out the low end and chord beds.

The developer describes the sounds as built around kalimbas, pianos, mellow pads and smooth guitars. Resonance Sound also notes that the Noise Oscillator was used to convert real instruments, including vocals, into Serum patches.

Workflow with MIDI Files and Macros

The pack includes 54 MIDI files split into melody, chord, bass and other parts. You load a matching group of MIDI files onto the presets, then add your own kick, snare and percussion to finish the groove.

Every preset has its four macros and the mod wheel assigned, so you can control several parameters from one knob. The pack also includes 25 noise oscillator samples and a set of wavetables for further sound design in Serum.
