Sound and Character of the DynIR Bass Cabinets

Two Notes describes DynIR as a cabinet capture technology aimed at hyper-realistic electric bass cabinet emulation. Each cabinet in the collection is captured with 8 microphones, so you can pick different mic positions and blend the results.

The ten cabinets span a range of speaker configurations, from a single 15-inch closed-back cab to 4x10 and 2x15 designs. Each one is modeled on a specific cabinet and speaker combination, so the tonal options vary from cabinet to cabinet.

The collection is meant to cover both classic and modern bass sounds, so you can start from a vintage-style tone or a more contemporary one.

Using the Bass Cabinets in Wall of Sound

The Bass Collective is designed for use in Wall of Sound, which Two Notes describes as an industry standard plugin for virtual miking, power amp simulation and studio post effects. Wall of Sound can run up to 20 DynIR cabinet channels in stereo.

Each channel includes a tube power amp emulation, eight room acoustics and studio effects such as a 6-band EQ, a 2-band exciter, a studio compressor and a reverb. These controls let you shape the cabinet sound within the same signal chain.

The pack requires the full version of Wall of Sound or GENOME. It does not run on its own.
