Dynamic Speaker Behavior for IR Loading
A standard impulse response captures the tone and resonance of a cabinet at one moment, so it cannot react to how hard the guitar is played. Bogren Digital says IRDX technology, developed by producer Jens Bogren, uses machine learning to reconstruct the difference between a real cab and an impulse response. The result is meant to add non-linear speaker behavior, so that notes and chords respond more like they would through a real speaker.
The developer describes the effect as subtle at first, and says the difference is most noticeable when comparing engaged and bypassed states. Guitar tones are the main focus of the product.
