01Overview

Expansion - Amplified Funk is built around live funk and soul material. Amp Fiddler recorded the samples in his Camp Amp studio, using vintage drums, a Roland Jupiter-6, a Moog Memorymoog and a baby grand piano. The source copy names guitarist Chris Bruce, members of Funkadelic, guitarist Andre "Fox" Williams and percussionist Larry Fratangelo as contributors. The expansion combines these recordings with electronic sounds for a more modern feel.

Live Funk Samples and Drum Kits

The expansion is organized around its drum content. The drum sample breakdown includes 93 kicks, 87 snares, 43 claps, 16 cymbals, 107 hi hats, 87 percussion sounds, 40 shakers and 43 toms. These are arranged into 48 MASCHINE kits and 57 BATTERY kits.

The kits are built from custom samples of guitar and bass licks, chords, vintage keys and synths, pianos, percussion and vocals. Because they come from recorded sessions rather than generic libraries, they suit producers who want an authentic funk character in their grooves.

Contemporary Presets for MASSIVE

Alongside the sample content, the expansion includes 83 MASSIVE presets. Amp Fiddler created these custom sounds with MASSIVE and the MASCHINE drum synths to add a modern edge to the vintage material.

Use the MASSIVE presets to layer synth textures over the live-recorded kits, or to bring funk flavor into electronic productions.

05FAQ

Questions, answered

What do I need to use Amplified Funk?

MASCHINE content requires the latest version of MASCHINE, and BATTERY content requires the latest version of BATTERY. Any MASSIVE, MONARK or REAKTOR PRISM content requires the latest version of that software.
