Sound Categories in the Serum Presets

The pack is organized by sound type. It includes 3 808s and 18 basses for the low end, which are the core of most phonk tracks. Bells and plucks add the bright, percussive layers, with 19 bells and 8 plucks in the set. Cowbells are a signature element of the genre, and the developer says the pack includes a variety of them.

The remaining presets cover the harmonic and texture layers: 4 pads and 2 atmospheric sounds for background movement, 2 brass patches, 2 keys, 5 leads and 1 voice. Together they give you a full set of sounds to build a complete arrangement without loading other packs.

All 64 presets include full macro assignments, so you can control several parameters at once.

Using the MIDI Files and Versatility

The pack includes 26 MIDI files for quick idea generation. Drag a file into your DAW, pick a Serum preset from the pack and build from there.

Resonance Sound says the presets were designed to be widely applicable. The developer notes they can be used for house, drift and classic phonk, as well as trap beats and hip-hop tracks.

The pack contains Serum presets only. The drums used in the demonstrations are for demo purposes and are not part of the sound set, so you will need your own drum sounds.
