Kick Presets and Attack Layers
The expansion includes 64 kick drum presets, along with 32 attack hits and 32 attack presets. The attack material lets you shape the transient of a kick separately from its body, giving you a way to adjust the click and thump balance within BigKick.
The developer says the kicks were tested individually so that each one peaks at about -6 dB, which gives a consistent starting level across the set. Kiholm also notes that the presets are offered in key, which helps when matching a kick to a bassline.
