01Overview

BFD Dunnett Ti adds a full acoustic drum kit with titanium shells to BFD's drum library. The kit includes two kicks, five toms, a detailed snare, hihat and cymbals, giving producers a distinctive metal-shell voice to work with alongside existing BFD content. It requires BFD and is available as a preset expansion for BFD3, BFD Eco and BFD2.

Titanium Drum Kit Sounds and Character

The expansion is built around a set of hand-made prototype drums from Ronn Dunnett, with shells made from solid titanium. The developer describes the kit as one of the most advanced all-metal drumkits ever created.

The library contains two kicks, each playable with felt or wood beaters, which allows a choice between softer and harder attacks. Five toms and a full-detail snare round out the drum voices, while the hihat and cymbals complete the kit.

Amp Channel and Recording Setup

When used in BFD3 or BFD2, the expansion includes an Amb3 channel of the kit fed through a Sovtek Mig 60 tube guitar amp and a Marshall 4x12 cabinet. The cabinet was mic'd with Royer 122 ribbon microphones in a Blumlein configuration.

The kit was recorded in the same room and studio conditions as the BFD Jazz & Funk, BFD JEX, BFD Heavy and BFD Percussion expansions, so it can sit alongside those libraries. The developer also says it is designed to work with BFD libraries recorded in other locations.
