Kit Sound and Microphone Options

The kick drum was recorded in three variations: dampened, fully open, and without the resonant head. Each was captured with a different microphone, giving you separate tonal options for the same drum.

The kit includes eight snare variations covering dampened and resonant tones in low and high tunings. The snares were recorded with a mix of dynamic and condenser microphones, plus a ribbon microphone, so you can shape the snare sound to suit the mix.

BFD Crush also includes PZM room microphones and a mono microphone placed in front of the kit. The developer notes the mono mic can be heavily crushed to thicken a production.

Toms, Cymbals and Presets

The kit has six toms: two floor toms and four rack toms. You can load a set of three lower-tuned toms, three higher-tuned toms, or all six at once for a large progressive kit.

The cymbals come from Meinl and were recorded with condenser microphones. Three stacked cymbal setups are included for more aggressive sounds.

The pack includes 10 presets and a light amount of processing to get you started, and the developer recommends it for rock, metal, progressive rock and metal, technical metal and djent.
