Modeled sound and tuning character
The original organ's oscillators use unstable germanium transistors. Octaves stay pure, while other intervals can drift out of tune, which produces a chorusing effect when playing chords. KORG says each key has up to five contact wires, one per drawbar, that strike at slightly different times as the contacts wear. This gives every note a unique character at note-on and note-off.
Calibration controls let you set how much of these imperfections you hear, from none to the full vintage effect.
