01Overview

Voice of Rapture: The Tenor is a companion to Soundiron's Voice of Rapture: The Soprano library. Soundiron says the library was recorded with tenor Brian Thorsett and covers a range from loud, powerful fortissimo to soft pianissimo. The instrument is built around true legato sustains, a wide set of articulations and a phrase section, all running inside Kontakt. Its features suit producers who need a sung melodic line without a full vocal recording session.

Sound Design and Vocal Articulations

The core of the library is a set of true legato sustains. Ah (forte, with vibrato), Ah (piano) and Oo (piano, without vibrato) are sampled with infinite sustain, and release samples are included for natural note endings.

For shorter, rhythmic parts, 25 staccato syllables offer note shaping and instant syllable switching. Sustained Ah, Ee, Eh, Mm, Oh and Oo vowels are provided in both vibrato and non-vibrato versions.

Two mic positions, cardioid and condenser, each have independent volume and panning, so you can blend the character of the two microphones.

Phrases, Chants and Workflow Controls

The Phrase section contains 1358 improvised melodic phrases at 80 and 100 bpm, with real-time tempo-synching or time-stretching. Phrases are provided in the root keys of A#, C, D, E, F# and G#, and include French, Latin, pure vowel and humming categories.

A phrase sequencer lets you set per-slot start and end markers, and the library includes 12 sustaining Latin chants with phrase-synchronized legato and instant word switching. A swell control shapes dynamics in real time, and every preset is fully automatable with customizable key switches and GUI controls.

The bundled FX rack includes chorus, compression, distortion, amp and cabinet simulation, EQ, delay and reverb, with 25 creative convolutions and 45 real-world rooms and halls.
