Voice of Rapture: The Soprano focuses on classical solo soprano voice. Soundiron recorded Nichole Dechaine in a studio and programmed each articulation into its performance system. The library includes true legato vowels with infinite sustain, vowel sustains with and without vibrato, and Latin chants. Its Phrase section adds melodic material in French, Latin and pure vowels, plus whistling phrases and vocal textures for building ambient and cinematic sound.

Vowels, Legato and Articulations

The core of the library is a set of true legato vowels. Ah (forte, with vibrato) and Oo (piano, no vibrato) use full-sustain recordings and provide infinite sustain. Additional vowel sustains cover Ah, Eh, Mm, Oh and Oo, in vibrato and non-vibrato versions.

For rhythmic parts, there are 23 staccatos. Twelve full-range Latin Polysustain chants add sustained vocal textures with releases and tempo-synching or time-stretching. Swell control lets you shape dynamics in real time, and every preset shows a real-time waveform display.

Phrases, Effects and the FX Rack

The Phrase section contains French, Latin and pure vowel melodic phrases in the keys of A through G. Phrases support pitch transposition, instant pattern sequencing, legato blending and tempo-synching or time-stretching. Whistling phrases use the same controls.

The built-in Multi-FX rack includes Chorus, Compression, Distortion, Amp and Cab simulation, EQ, Delay and Reverb. The Reverb unit offers 25 creative FX convolutions and 45 live rooms, studios, chambers, cathedrals and halls, with tone, size and mix controls. Bonus ambiences, atmospheres and tuned pads are also included, and all controls are automatable with customizable key switches.

What do I need to use Voice of Rapture: The Soprano?

The library requires the full retail version of Native Instruments Kontakt, version 4.2.4 or later for the Kontakt 4 presets, and version 5.1.0 or later for the Kontakt 5 presets. It will not run in full inside the free Kontakt Player, which only offers demo mode.

Which operating systems and formats does it support?

The library is listed for Windows and macOS and is delivered in the Kontakt format. The developer lists Windows XP or higher and Mac OS X 10.6 or higher, with a dual-core CPU and 2 GB of RAM recommended.
