Vintage Keys Collection is built from sampled analog synthesizers, electric organs, built-in drum machines and sound effects spanning roughly the last 60 years. The library contains 85,082 stereo samples across 23 instruments, with hundreds of ambient pads and evolving drones among them. Its main preset includes an XY pad that blends four layers at once, and an integrated arpeggiator, legato mode and full FX rack are included.

Sound Sources and Layering in the Main Preset

The main preset is organized around four quadrants, each with its own sound-shaping options such as attack, release, offset, pitch and pan. Every layer has an individual arpeggiator and a filter with 39 built-in filter types, and you can access the samples in each layer to mix and match them.

The assignable XY pad defaults to volume control between the four layers. Each axis can be reassigned to a different parameter, including filters or a selection of FX, and rhythmic motion can be added with tempo-synced movement. The X and Y range can also be limited to create new patterns in tone. Two macro knobs beside the pad can modulate layer controls or FX rack plugins.

Presets, Sample Import and FX for Electronic Production

The library includes 484 Kontakt .nki presets covering pads, leads, basses, FX and more, and each individual product has its own presets. The interface offers infinite randomization, 24 wavetables and user WAV import, so your own recordings can be blended into the engine.

The FX rack provides convolution reverb with custom rooms, halls, chambers and FX environments, along with other DSP effects. The library is made for the free Kontakt Player (version 7.1.8+), Komplete Kontrol, S-Series keyboards and NKS software and hardware by Native Instruments.
