Sound and Character of the BBD Echo and Reverb
Resonance Sound describes the original Dynacord unit as having a reverberation structure designed to avoid the cellar-like coloration of early reverb devices. The result is a mix of delay and reverb that is hard to get from a standard reverb plugin.
Audiority models the BBD behavior, including reduced bandwidth that changes with the delay time and internal companding via an NE570 simulation. Together these add the darker, slightly degraded tone associated with analog bucket-brigade hardware.
The Feedback Trimmer and Clock Trimmer let you fine-tune the feedback amount and the BBD clock speed, so you can shape the repeats and the tonal color beyond the stock settings.
