01Overview

NeonVerb MV2 is designed for producers who want ambient, vintage-flavored spaces with more control than the original hardware offered. Its 100 original programs are based on captured hardware reverb programs, and the plugin adds modern controls such as tempo-synced pre-delay, input modulation and a spin modulation on the reverb tail. A hybrid convolution engine and a decay control based on IR TimeStretch let you change the length of a space while keeping its tone. The developer also includes an output transformer saturation stage for added weight.

Vintage Character With Modern Control

The core of NeonVerb MV2 is a set of reverb programs captured from the Alesis MidiVerb II hardware and expanded with controls for playability. Audiority describes the goal as keeping the tone authentic while making the spaces easier to shape in a session.

DECAY uses IR TimeStretch, which changes the length of the impulse response while preserving its timbre. An extra diffusion network adds depth and density, and the IR LF and HF damping filters let you shape the low and high end of the tail.

The Individual Input, Dry and Wet controls give you direct balance over the signal path, and the interface can be resized to suit your screen.

Motion, Modulation and Saturation

NeonVerb MV2 offers two kinds of movement. Input modulation adds a wobbly, tape-style motion to the signal entering the reverb. Reverb spin modulation adds a Lexicon-inspired movement to the tail for a wider, shimmering decay.

Pre-delay can be tempo-synced, so the gap before the reverb onset can lock to your project tempo. Output transformer saturation adds harmonic content and a sense of glue to the final reverb signal.

MIDI mapping is included for assigning controls to hardware or automation workflows.

Questions, answered

Which formats does NeonVerb MV2 support?

NeonVerb MV2 is available in VST3, AU, AAX and CLAP formats. It runs on Windows and macOS, and the system requirements list both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.

What do I need to run NeonVerb MV2?

You need a 64-bit host that supports one of the listed formats. For AAX, the system requirements call for Pro Tools 11 or higher. Windows requires Windows 7 64-bit or later, and macOS requires 10.13 or later on Intel or macOS 11.0 or later on Apple Silicon, with 2GB RAM and a 1024×768 screen resolution.

Does NeonVerb MV2 have a sync option for pre-delay?

Yes. Pre-delay can be tempo-synced, so the delay time follows your project tempo.
