Velvet Guitars Upgrade from Desolate Guitars: Kontakt Guitar Instrument

The core of the instrument is a set of five electric and electric-acoustic guitars. Each is presented as a distinct voice, so you can switch between them to change the character of a part.

Two vintage amps sit at the center of the sound. You can choose one or blend between them, and the developer describes both as suited to mellow, atmospheric guitar tones. A true spring reverb adds the recognizable splashy depth associated with that effect.

Vintage amp tremolo models are included, along with additional pedal-inspired styles. The tremolo can sync to your host tempo.

Velvet Guitars includes a broad articulation set: plucks, mutes, dead notes, chords, swells, feedback, harmonics, slides, jazzy octaves, ebow and violin bow. Several unconventional sounds are also included, such as guitar played with a toothbrush, lo-fi tape recordings and random textures.

Sustains and mutes work across the guitars and amp setups. In chord-based presets you can choose major or minor chords. The modwheel switches or blends between articulations while you play.

A curated set of guitarist-designed FX presets with macro controls rounds out the instrument for quick, expressive shaping.
