Guitar Tones, Amps and Spring Reverb
The four guitars cover different characters. Desolate is a classic solid body with a twangy edge. Chime is based on a '60s guitar with a floating tremolo system. Baritone covers the full range of a bass guitar while keeping a twangy voice. Mellow is a semihollow model suited to warmer, softer tones.
The two vintage amps are central to the sound, and the spring reverb was recorded from a real amp spring. Each sample was captured four times through two amps, with dry and wet options, so the reverb feels more lively than a static modeled reverb.
