01Overview

Vacuum Pro is a subtractive synth built around vacuum tube circuit modeling, aimed at producers who want the warm, crunchy character of classic analog instruments. Its signal path combines four oscillators, two vacuum tube filters, four envelope generators and matrix-assignable modulation. The developer says the synth is well suited to basses, leads, pads and sound effects, and it ships with 350+ patches. Available in VST3, VST2 and AU formats on Windows and macOS.

Analog Sound with Vacuum Tube Character

Each synth part starts with two wide-range vacuum tube oscillators that can be synced, detuned and set to different octave levels. Quad Detune controls per oscillator make it quick to dial in thick, wide patches, and a built-in Doubling effect adds further width.

The filter section includes a traditional low-pass filter and a selectable high-pass or band-pass filter, both modeled with vacuum tube circuits. The mixer provides a drive circuit and a tone-warping ring modulator. The Age controls add oscillator drift and a layer of dust for a more unstable, vintage feel.

Vacuum Pro also includes six virtual vacuum tube circuits along the signal path that add crunch and grit at each stage.

Smart Controls and Preset Workflow

The Smart page places eight macro knobs over the main parameters, including Punch, Emphasis and Complexity. Producers can work with the macros for broad changes, then switch to micro mode for detailed editing.

Smart Sound Randomization generates new settings for either part or both. You can lock the modules you want to keep, so the randomizer only changes the rest. The 350+ included patches were programmed by sound designers Richard Devine and Mark Ovenden, and you can load them separately into each part to build multi-timbral layers.

An onboard arpeggiator syncs to your DAW tempo, and a chorus/phaser and delay add motion. All parameters are MIDI-mappable for live control and automation.
