Sound Engines and Macro Editing

Hype combines four engines in a single instrument. FM, Wavetable, Virtual Analog and Sampled sources can be layered to build thick, expressive patches, and the developer describes the result as multi-dimensional textures suited to large productions.

The six Macro controls and eight Editing dials are the main way to work with a sound. You can shape a preset for a specific project and save your changes for later recall. Plugin presets can be saved and loaded directly from the plugin toolbar, including in the standalone version.

Built-In Effects and the Hype EQ

Hype includes eight effects: Modulation, Distortion, Hype (EQ), Reverb, Delay, Compressor, Pumper and Limiter. Each has its own section, and the Effects panel stays visible on every page so each effect can be enabled or bypassed at any time.

The Hype EQ has two controls for the frequency extremes. Low Hype adds sub-bass weight to basses, kick drums and wobbles, while High Hype adds high-end shimmer, which the developer suggests for pads, strings, brass and percussive sounds.
