01Overview

Loom II is an additive synth built around a modular framework of 34 editable modules that can be combined in up to 10 cells. Each module handles a specific sonic task, from octaver and moving filter to noise and modulator, and a per-module spectrum window shows how each one shapes the individual harmonics. The Morph Pad lets you store up to four variations of a patch and move between them in real time, freely or synced to a musical unit. Loom II is an upgrade of the original Loom and includes 850+ patches.

Modular Additive Sound Design

Loom II delivers up to 512 harmonic partials per patch. Four new modules expand the toolkit: 5-Sines for organ and sine-style tones, Discrete Adder for percussion-based synth sounds, Hype for high and low emphasis with dedicated controls, and Double Wave for more advanced users who want to build complex synth patterns.

The new Spectral Noise section lets a secondary oscillator replace or enrich the additive spectrum with a noise spectrum. Subharmonic Optional Partials add two partials below the normal spectrum, and the Smart Sound Randomizer can generate new parameters or a new mix of modules to start a sound.

Morph Pad and Movement

The Morph Pad adds dynamics to a patch. You create up to four variations of a sound, assign each to a quadrant of the pad, and draw a morph path by clicking and dragging. The morph can run free-form or sync to a unit such as 1 bar or 4 bars, and each segment of the path can be synced individually.

Version 2 adds an X-Axis mode that behaves like an envelope, which suits rhythmic morph patterns, with Snap/Grid available in that mode. Points and paths can be stored and restored separately, and parameters not linked to the morph can be used as well.
