Sound and Analog Circuit Modeling
The original TR-808 generated its drum sounds with analog synthesis rather than samples, a choice driven by the high cost of memory at the time. Roland describes this plugin as a recreation of those analog circuits, aiming to match the original's character, including its distinctive bass drum, hi-hats, snare, rim shot, and cowbell.
Beyond the faithful core, the plugin adds tuning and decay controls for each instrument, plus an internal overdrive option. These give producers ways to shape the classic voices for modern sound design.
