03In depth

A soft, gentle clarinet sound

Black Wood Flow starts from a clarinet recording made with one clear goal: a very soft, silent and gentle tone. KLANG says it set out to create a sound that stays quiet and calm rather than bright or assertive.

The developer describes the final sound as very pure and flowing. That makes the instrument a natural fit for passages that need a breathy, understated woodwind color rather than a forward lead line.

Working with the KLANG Engine in Kontakt

The instrument is built for Kontakt and loads into the KLANG Engine. Because it is a Kontakt instrument, you need the full version of Kontakt 5.6.8 or later to run it. Kontakt Player is not enough.

If you already work with other SYMPHONIC instruments, Black Wood Flow sits in the same family, so it can be layered or used alongside them in a single Kontakt session.
