Sound Design Built From Effects Pedals
KLANG recorded a bass guitar passed through several of its stompboxes, including Pitch Delay, Granular, Distortion and Sampler. The developer then captured two patches from this chain. These two patches can be mixed together inside the instrument, so the sound comes from the interaction between the source bass and the effects.
Because the character is shaped by pitch, granular and sampling processing, the results are best suited to sound design rather than natural guitar tones. Producers looking for something that moves and shifts over time will find the layered, effect-driven material useful for atmospheric or experimental work.
