01Overview

Strum GS-2 is built for producers who need guitar tracks without a guitarist in the room. Its collection covers acoustic and electric guitars in one plugin, with amps, effects and speaker cabinets for shaping tone. You can play chords on a keyboard and let the plugin voice them the way a guitarist would, then add strumming and picking through its keyboard controls or drop in a MIDI loop from the included library.

Guitar Sounds and Tone Shaping

The plugin combines more than 200 acoustic and electric guitars, including nylon and steel strings and single coil and humbucker pickups. Electric tones range from clean to crunchy to distorted, and a direct-input option is included.

Beyond the instrument itself, you can adjust the pick or finger interaction, choose body size and select the material and decay of each string. A 2-channel amplifier, spring reverb, speaker cabinet, compressor, equalizer and a multi-effect processor with chorus, delay, phaser, flanger, distortion, wah-wah and reverb are available for the final sound.

Playing Guitar Parts from a Keyboard

Strum GS-2 handles the parts that are hard to play on a keyboard. Chords can be voiced in open, movable or drop voicings, and strumming can be triggered with down and upstrokes, scratches, mutes and picking patterns through the arpeggio keys.

A Keyboard mode lets you play lead lines and your own voicings, while a Loop mode gives direct access to rhythm figures from a MIDI loop library of acoustic and electric packs. Pitch wheel, aftertouch and modulation wheel control bends, slides and vibrato.
