The core of Lounge Lizard Session is its set of synthesis parameters. Each one acts on a specific part of the instrument: the mallet, the pickup, the tine and the tone bar. Adjusting these changes the attack and body of the note rather than simply filtering a finished sample.

The Character knob is a fast way to move between five classic studio and stage signal path emulations. Combined with the compressor and equalizer, it gives you a quick route from a raw electric piano tone to a mix-ready sound.

The plugin includes tremolo, chorus, phaser and reverb tuned for electric piano. Developer Applied Acoustics Systems says the effects are specifically designed for this instrument.

The sound library contains 16 presets drawn from the Lounge Lizard EP-4 instrument. They range from clean Classic and Bright tones to Dark variants, effect-processed versions with tremolo, chorus or phaser, and Compressed, Groovy EP, Bite and EP Bass sounds.

For performance, you can control any parameter in real time from a MIDI controller's knobs, faders and switches. MIDI clock, tap tempo and host tempo sync keep the effects and modulations locked to your project. Editing supports unlimited undo and redo, so you can experiment without losing earlier settings.

The plugin runs in most major DAWs, and its standalone mode suits quick jams and sketching ideas.
