01Overview

Stereoizer targets a common mixing problem: many elements in a track were recorded in mono, and panning alone runs out of room, especially in sparse arrangements. NUGEN Audio's plugin combines three independent width algorithms, two based on how the human ear perceives width, to build a stereo image from mono material. Frequency-specific controls let you focus the widening on chosen bands, and the plugin is built to keep mono compatibility intact.

Three width algorithms in one plugin

Stereoizer offers three independent modes. IID (Interaural Intensity Difference) and ITD (Interaural Time Difference) are based on how the human ear perceives width, and can create a stereo signal even from a mono source. Linear Width behaves more like a conventional stereo width tool.

Used together, the modes cover a wide range, from subtle symmetry to a large stereo panorama. IID and ITD can be switched on and off independently, so you can choose the approach that suits each source.

Frequency control and mono safety

Upper and lower frequency bounds let you limit width expansion to specific bands. The developer presents this as a way to add shine and polish to a mix without resorting to extreme EQ.

Resolution, focus, acuity, fill and invert controls shape the result further. Dynamic modulation with tempo lock adds movement that follows your project tempo. A 'Collapse output to mono' audition mode lets you check how the widened signal sums to mono.
