01Overview

Serato Sample is built for producers who want to work with samples inside their existing DAW. It loads audio, matches its tempo and key to your project, and offers tools for chopping, slicing and playing material across a keyboard or piano roll. Its stem separation feature, added in version 2.0, lets you isolate parts of a track such as vocals, melody, bass and drums. The plugin uses Serato's Pitch 'n Time algorithms for key shifting and time stretching.

Sample Chopping, Slicing and Stem Separation

Serato Sample can automatically find and chop up to 32 samples from a track, or you can slice it manually. Drum one-shots can be found quickly, and the beat can be subdivided at intervals such as 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1, and 2.

The stem separation feature splits a track into up to four high-quality audio stems in real time. Once separated, each stem can be chopped, flipped and manipulated like any other sample. Random mode adds unpredictable variation to chop selection.

Cue points can be triggered from your computer keyboard, MIDI hardware, or painted directly into the piano roll.

Pitch, Time and Playback Modes

Integrated Pitch 'n Time algorithms let you key shift and stretch samples. Keyboard mode plays a single sample chromatically across the piano scale.

Mono and poly playback modes let you trigger cue points as single notes, chords or drum patterns, which suits melodic chops and rhythmic loops alike.
