The SA-2 Dialog Processor Native v7 is McDSP's effects plugin for spoken word and vocal work. McDSP says it is based on hardware originally conceived by Academy Award winning re-recording mixer Mike Minkler. Active EQ for Dialog and Vocal Tone

The SA-2 is built around five independent bands of strategic active equalization. Each band has its own threshold control, which sets the signal level at which the active equalizer starts to affect the sound. Per-band enable buttons let you audition the effect of any single band quickly.

Two mode selectors shape the behavior. One controls the ballistics of the active equalization, and the other places the five bands at strategic points across the frequency spectrum. Input and output gain controls handle overall level.

As of this version, the plugin adds a new Frequency Shift Control and new Range and Monitor controls, along with unique signal reduction metering that shows how much processing is being applied.

Workflow, Versions and Requirements

The Native v7 version runs on Windows and macOS in 64-bit form and is available in VST3, VST2, AU and AAX formats. McDSP lists support for Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase, Nuendo, Ableton Live, LUNA, Reaper, Sonar, Studio One and other DAWs that support AAX, AU or VST3.

The plugin is available in mono and stereo versions. Each v7 plugin contains two activations per authorization. McDSP plugins require an iLok2 or iLok3 USB Smart Key, or a free iLok License Manager account with iLok Cloud for authorization.

For AAX DSP users, McDSP also offers an HD version, which is a separate product.
