Five generation engines and their character
Riffer 4 uses five separate generation engines rather than a single randomizer. Audiomodern describes each engine as having its own musical character. The engines can produce hypnotic sequences, memorable hooks, guitar-inspired patterns, animated arpeggios and basslines. Their output can be reshaped, combined and transformed into new ideas, which makes it possible to move from one engine's material to another within the same session.
Because each engine produces a different style of pattern, the choice of engine often matters more than randomizing repeatedly within one engine.
