01Overview

RICO focuses on the rhythms behind reggaeton, dancehall and moombahton. Its Style and Kit selectors let you move quickly between dembow-style grooves, offbeat patterns and harder-hitting beats. Each kit contains 16 drum instruments, and the Mix presets offer quick multi-effect processing for shaping the sound. The plugin is aimed at producers who need a Latin or club-leaning groove without building the drum sounds and patterns from scratch.

Styles, Kits and Patterns for Latin Grooves

RICO includes 20 styles and 10 drum kits, with 23 ready-made patterns per style for a total of 460 patterns. The styles range from classic Latin rhythms to offbeat patterns that move away from the four-on-the-floor pulse, as well as harder-hitting beats.

Because kits and styles can be combined, the instrument covers a wide range of reggaeton, moombahton and pop beat variations from one interface.

Mix Presets and Control Options

The Mix settings switch between multi-effect profiles that change the character of the drums. The developer names The Grinder for delay and glitch-style processing, Wrecking Ball for heavy distortion and Good 2 Go for a liquified sound.

The Me Gusta control adds stereo width and instrument isolation, or pushes the signal toward a mono, crunchy distortion. The Intensity control adjusts brightness and EQ, which can help separate a verse from a chorus.
