01Overview

PSP Saturator is an addition to the PSP Audioware lineup, built on algorithms the developer describes as refined. It is designed to add harmonics, filtering and dynamic processing to a track, in the manner of analog gear. The plugin uses three emulation algorithms and offers eight shape modes, so the same tool can add a light touch to a mix or push a sound into aggressive territory. It is available in VST3, VST2, AU and AAX formats for Windows and macOS.

Saturation Shapes and Sound Control

PSP Saturator includes eight different saturation shapes, each with its own tonal character. Three signal sculpting engines cover low, high and overall saturation, so you can target the parts of the spectrum that need warmth or grit.

Adjustable Low and High band processing engines let you add band-related warming effects. A parallel mix option blends the processed signal with the dry signal, and the plugin applies internal phase alignment to keep the blend coherent.

An optional FAT quad-sampling mode is available for higher saturation quality. Three output modes (off, sat, lim) shape the final stage of the signal.

Workflow, Metering and Presets

Input and output gain controls can be linked relatively, which helps keep level changes consistent while you adjust drive. An additional control panel offers fine-tuning of individual saturation parameters and smoothing, and multiple metering modes help with signal analysis.

The plugin has a very low internal latency of 6 samples. It ships with 200 presets, which the developer says were designed by top engineers and producers, giving you starting points for different sources and styles before you shape the sound yourself.
