01Overview

PSP EasyVerb 2 is a multipurpose reverb processor from PSP Audioware. Its design aims for simple operation with enough control over each algorithm to shape the effect to a specific need. The developer describes it as operationally easy but sonically complex. The plugin covers room and hall-style spaces as well as plate and spring reverb types, so it can serve as a general-purpose reverb in a mix.

Algorithms, Variations and Sizes

The plugin includes ten algorithms: Ambience, Room, Chamber, Club, Hall, Arena, Cathedral, Spring, Plate and Reverse. Each algorithm comes in three variations. The Legacy variation carries the room tuning from PSP EasyVerb version 1, so existing users can keep their original sounds. Alt1 and Alt2 are new in version 2 and offer different tonalities.

Each algorithm can also be set to Small, Medium or Large. The Medium size matches the version 1 setting. Pairing Medium with the Legacy algorithm recreates the sound of version 1.

Parameters and Equalizer Shaping

Every algorithm exposes Decay, which sets the reverb time and overall room character, along with Damp for high-frequency damping to simulate darker spaces. Predelay adjusts the delay before the reverb begins.

A three-band semi-parametric equalizer shapes the reverb's spectrum. It has upper and lower shelving bands that can also work as highpass and lowpass filters, plus a peaking mid band for precise tonal adjustments.
