Selective Processing: Sound and Character
The core of Phantomix is the Dynamic Splitter, which separates the prominent parts of audio from the subtle parts so that each can be routed to its own processing. Reverb and delay are applied only to the selected elements, which the developer says adds atmosphere without cluttering the mix.
Saturation and distortion work the same way. They can enhance transients with saturation or limiting while leaving the rest of the signal untouched. The EQ and filters follow this logic too, so tonal corrections affect only the targeted part of the signal, aiming to keep the original character intact.
