01Overview

PeakLimit is designed for the final stage of the mastering chain, where a mix is made loud and controlled before release. Its four style modes, Lucid, Warm, Punch and Bright, let you choose between a transparent limiting character and one that adds low-end weight, punch or high-frequency brightness. Adaptive release, lookahead and sensitivity controls help you shape how the limiter responds to your material, and the metering shows gain reduction, RMS levels and LUFS readings as you work.

Limiter Styles and Transient Control

PeakLimit's Lucid mode is the transparent option, limiting the signal without coloring the audio or changing its tonal balance. Warm mode emphasizes the lower frequencies for a deeper, fuller sound. Punch mode emphasizes dynamics, and the developer notes it works particularly well on single tracks. Bright mode adds brightness by emphasizing the upper part of the frequency spectrum.

Transient control offers Soft, Hard and Transparent modes, which determine how the plugin handles transients. Lookahead and sensitivity parameters let you fine-tune the limiting that your source material needs.

Metering and Loudness Monitoring

The real-time metering shows the gain reduction applied to your audio, along with RMS levels for the left and right channels and the output waveform. Built-in LUFS, RMS and peak readings help you check loudness and avoid clipping.

PeakLimit can also be used on buses and groups, as well as on drums, bass, guitar and synth parts, for taming peaks and adding color. A preset manager lets you save and share your settings, and 50 presets are included.
