01Overview

ODC 2800 Synthesizer is a tribute to ARP founder Alan R. Pearlman, released to mark the centenary of his birth. Cherry Audio builds the plugin around the ARP Odyssey, covering all three hardware versions. Developer Mark Barton's circuit-modeling DSP drives the engine, which extends the original design with a third oscillator, an additional LFO and wider modulation routing. The plugin ships with more than 330 presets and runs as a single instrument in your DAW.

Sound Engine and Modulation for ARP Odyssey Tones

The synth models the Mk I, Mk II and Mk III versions of the ARP Odyssey. Three VCOs offer extended sync and modulation options, so you can build the layered, detuned or synced tones the Odyssey is known for. Three classic filter types include gain compensation and highpass filters for shaping the low end.

Dual LFOs and flexible routing open up a wide range of modulation sources. Smart portamento and unison mode, with up to 16-voice polyphony, cover everything from monophonic leads to full pads.

Effects, Presets and Workflow

A built-in effects suite provides distortion, phaser, chorus, delay and reverb, so you can finish sounds without adding separate processing. The plugin includes more than 330 presets to use as starting points or to study how patches are built.
