01Overview

Noisy 2 is built around noise-excited resonators, combining modal acoustic resonators with analog-style sound sources. Its engine is designed for MPE and expressive playing, so gestures can shape the sound as you perform. Two layers form each preset, and four expression modules let you reshape texture and effects without advanced sound design knowledge. The plugin also works with classic MIDI controllers through a non-MPE mode.

Resonator Engine and Sound Character

Noisy 2 uses noise to excite analog and acoustic resonators, producing textures that sit between struck, bowed and electronic sounds. Pick a noise source to activate three resonators and layer them to taste.

The engine adds four new modal acoustic resonators and a pulse-width modulation resonator for analog-style tones. Four extra filter emulations and an enhanced soft clipper with feedback control expand the timbral range.

MPE Playing and Controller Support

Expressive E describes the MPE mode as going beyond regular MPE integration. You can balance pressure, aftertouch and the envelope generator to shape how a preset responds to your hands. Trig Modes add sound impulses when you push, lift or shake a key at any point in its travel.

A built-in visualizer shows in real time how envelopes and continuous control affect the sound. Noisy 2 is designed for plug-and-play use with expressive controllers such as Osmose, Touché, Push 3 and Seaboard. Without an MPE controller, the classic mode works with a mod wheel or generic knob.
