Reverb Tail Control With a Built-In Ducker
Reverb can add warmth and a sense of space, but a long tail can blur the original sound. Mutant Reverb includes an internal ducker that works similarly to a standard compressor. Threshold sets the level at which the ducking starts, and Ratio controls how much gain reduction is applied.
Attack, Hold and Release shape the timing of the effect. Attack lets the ducker ignore transients in the original signal, Hold stabilises the gain reduction, and Release sets the fade-out time. The Mix dial sets the wet level, so the balance between the dry signal and the ducked reverb can be adjusted precisely.
A mute button for the source signal lets you audition the ducked reverb on its own, or use the plugin on an effects send.
