01Overview

MiniDust is a lighter sibling of SkyDust 3D. The developer reduces the oscillator count from eight to two while keeping the waveform library, modulation options and spatial controls that define the Sound Particles approach. The synth is polyphonic and pairs its two oscillators with more than 190 waveforms and over 70 waveform modifiers. Built-in tools include an arpeggiator with sequencer, a pitch envelope with LFO, filters and a randomness function for generating unexpected results.

Sound Design and Waveform Tools

MiniDust is built around two oscillators, each drawing on a library of more than 190 waveforms. Over 70 waveform modifiers let you reshape those sources before they reach the filters and envelopes. Multiple envelope generators give you independent control over amplitude and modulation movement, and a pitch EG and LFO add motion to pitch-based sounds.

The randomness feature is meant for exploration. Rather than dialing in every parameter by hand, you can roll the dice and keep the results that work.

Workflow, Effects and Spatial Processing

An arpeggiator and sequencer sit alongside the synth engine, so you can build rhythmic patterns without leaving the instrument. The two-slot FX rack offers nine effects: delay, bit crush, distortion, equalizer, reverb, flanger, vibrato, chorus and phaser.

The developer also highlights advanced spatial tools for placing and moving sounds, which fit producers working on immersive or wide-field mixes. MiniDust is available in VST3 and AAX formats, so it can be used in most major digital audio workstations that support those standards.
