Generating a Connected Set of MIDI Parts
MIDI Mutator covers a wide range of roles, including lead synth, arp, pluck, bass, pad, stab, chord, atmos, acid and counter parts. Each generated card can be scanned, selected, muted, soloed or locked, so you can keep the parts that fit and regenerate the rest.
The plugin uses style and substyle menus to keep the output anchored to a musical style. Key, harmony, length and BPM are set before generation, which gives you control over the direction of the material while still producing variation between results.
MIDI files are written on MIDI channel 1, which the developer notes helps with predictable DAW and hardware routing.
