Sound and Playing Modes

Resonance Sound describes MELLOW as a smooth, elegant acoustic bass that moves from smooth to powerful. The plugin offers two modes. Player Mode gives access to the UJAM control set: you set the musical key and chords, and the plugin chooses articulations for the bass line.

Instrument Mode, which the developer calls brand-new, lets you play the sampled fretboard from a MIDI controller. It includes dead notes, full stops and slides.

Sound Shaping and Workflow

The tone controls cover amp selection, instant character changes, note vibrato level, room reverb level, octave effects, dynamics and EQ. Each has a separate parameter, so you can adjust the sound without deep editing.

The upgrade includes 60 styles and 1380 phrases in total. Its design targets producers at any experience level, and MELLOW is also suited to singer-songwriter, R&B and hip hop tracks.
