Sound and Articulation Range
The library samples violin, viola, cello and contrabass, with the contrabass included alongside the more common string instruments. Big Fish Audio says the recordings were made by professional players on high-grade instruments, including a 1740-era violin.
The articulation set is broad. It covers arco, marcato, martelé, spiccato, sul tasto and ponticello, along with ponticello tremolo, half-step and whole-step trills, tremolo, pizzicato, ricochet, short, medium and long crescendos, harmonics and Bartók (snap) pizzicato. That range lets you move from sustained legato lines to percussive plucked passages within a single instrument.
