Vintage VI: Multi-Sampled Retro Kontakt Instrument Collection

The drum sets in Vintage VI are sampled live and open, with snares that crack and ring and toms that thunder. Big Fish Audio says the kits were recorded without gates or compressors, so the natural decay of each instrument remains intact.

The collection spans several decades of American drums, including Rogers, Gretsch, Ludwig and Slingerland kits, along with a range of snares from the 1910s through the 1990s. Cymbals include Zildjian pieces from the 1920s to the 1970s, several of them one-of-a-kind prototypes.

Keyboards were sampled clean and through old amplifiers, producing a range of tones from classic to heavily driven. Basses and guitars were set up to replicate a variety of retro styles across several genres.

The library also includes an electric sitar, a psychedelic staple of the late 1960s, which adds a period-specific color to rock and psychedelic arrangements.
