Street Percussion: Step-Sequenced Percussion Library for Kontakt by Big Fish Audio

The library covers a wide range of surfaces, including metal, plastic, wood, ethnic drums and two custom drum kits. Big Fish Audio recorded two street performers, Steven Bartashev and Cyzon Griffin, to capture these instruments.

Each instrument uses seven velocity layers and round robins, which helps repeated hits sound less mechanical. Each channel also has a close mic and a room mic, so you can balance direct attack against ambience.

The instrument set includes drum kits with hats, snares, toms, cowbells, crashes and rides, alongside objects such as buckets, pans, pipes, wood blocks and small drums.

The step sequencer has eight channels, and each channel has independent control over rate and steps. Channels can be triggered separately to build layered percussion sections.

Steps can be assigned velocity, length, pan, pitch, reverse, reverb and delay. Seven Kontakt effects are available per channel or globally.
