01Overview

LIFTFX is built to generate transitions and tension effects directly inside your DAW. Rather than dragging in samples and tuning them to your project, you play a key and the effect develops over the length you choose. Boom describes it as a way to create transitions in a simple, convenient way, with each parameter available for automation and mod-wheel control. Real-Time Synthesis for Risers and Drops

LIFTFX relies on real-time synthesis rather than prerecorded material. Boom says this keeps every aspect of the effect adjustable, including length, tempo, pitch range and root note, without the artifacts that can come from tuning samples.

It can sync to tempo or run on a time-based duration in seconds. Four macro controls can be automated independently, and the developer notes the interface gives immediate visual feedback on what the plugin is doing.

The filters, reverb and delay give you additional shaping options on the output, while the lightweight design comes from its synthesis-based approach.

Presets and Typical Use Cases

The 275 included presets cover risers and downlifters, bass drops, rhythmic and percussive builds, and bonus FX, ranging from tonal to noise-based designs.

Boom positions LIFTFX for electronic genres such as EDM, trap, dubstep, house, techno and drum and bass, as well as cinematic and experimental sound design. It can also add tonal layers or harmonic overtones to thicken synthesizers.

The optional time lock and control lock let you audition different presets while keeping the same length and settings.
