01Overview

KVLT Drums I is a virtual drum instrument from Ugritone, focused on the raw, distorted drum tones of underground black metal. The library draws on a kit of Tama and Sabian drums and cymbals, and includes over 100 one-shot samples. Sound Sources and Kit Components

The library is built from a full acoustic kit. The kick is a Tama ImperialStar 22x18, with two snares, a Tama ImperialStar 14x5.5 and a Pearl Brass Piccolo 13x3.5. The five toms range from an 8 to a 16-inch Tama ImperialStar.

The cymbal set includes Sabian AA hi-hats, ride, crashes, splashes and a China, along with a Harvia Custom Kiuas lid and a Hackman SausagePan. Each component is provided as one-shot samples, so you can shape the kit to your own arrangement.

Presets and Working With Your Own Samples

Six presets give you a starting point per style. Their names are 1-800-Grind, Cvrch of the Fried Chicken, Death Naked Metal, Join the New KVLT, Original Sauna and Sauna Death Metal. Ugritone describes them as crafted to provide a starting point for each genre and style.

If you want to replace or extend the library, the plugin accepts your own WAV, AIFF and FLAC samples. The download is roughly 600 MB.
