Sampler, looper and granular engine in one instrument
In its simplest form, Korn Deluxe works as a one-shot sampler. You set the starting point, root key and playback direction. Using a single grain with no start point variation turns it into a basic looper, with tempo set by the gap/grain length slider. That slider offers three tempo modes: FREE (off), SYN (synced to the host) and AL (random pauses).
Increasing the start point variation and the number of grains, up to five, moves the instrument into cloud and pad territory. Each grain can be pitched and given its own playback direction. Grain envelopes have separate attack, decay and release controls.
