01Overview

Harmonia uses two sample-based interpolated scanning oscillators. Each oscillator can produce several pitches at once, tuned either to a harmonic series or to semitones, and a single modulatable slider sweeps through the harmonics. The instrument includes a curated library of 285 waveforms in 11 categories and supports user-imported samples. Cherry Audio positions it as a tool for evolving pads, composite tones and sequencer-style melodies, with 350-plus presets and a complete modulation system.

Harmonic Scanning and Sound Character

Harmonia's oscillators scan through sampled harmonics rather than relying on a single static waveform. In Harmonic mode, six Harmonic Presets sweep through sample harmonics to create evolving tones or stack multiple harmonics into composite sounds. Semitone mode offers 23 Harmonic Presets aimed at sequencer-like melodies and undulating chords.

Most waveform samples are stereo, which the developer says gives a wider, more organic character with multiple stacked harmonics. You can also create and save custom Harmonic Presets or generate random ones.

Modulation, Effects and Workflow

Four tempo-syncable LFOs offer ten waveforms with one-shot, retrigger, and mono or polyphonic modes. The multimode filter includes lowpass options at 24, 18, 12 and 6 dB/oct, plus highpass, bandpass and notch responses. Click-and-drag Filter and Amp ADSR envelopes sit alongside an eight-slot modulation matrix with 19 sources and 80 destinations.

The 17 integrated effects, including distortion, chorus, delays and reverbs, can be modulated through the matrix. Voice modes run from monophonic to polyphonic with up to 16 voices. MIDI Learn and DAW automation cover all controls.
