Waves built Electric 88 Piano from expert multisampling, so each key of the original instrument is captured separately. The developer emphasizes realistic dynamics and faithful velocity response, which matters most when playing expressively.

For finer control over feel, the plugin includes controls for tine, key up and key thump. You can also adjust the velocity curve to match your playing touch.

Tone and formant controls let you shape the timbre so the piano sits in a mix, and limiting and compression help you tighten the sound.

The amp, drive and mic controls are aimed at the 70s onstage sound, letting you move between clean and driven tones. Built-in effects include classic tremolo, autopan, phaser, chorus and reverb, so you can shape the instrument inside the plugin before adding external processing.

For performance, Electric 88 Piano can run in standalone app mode. It is NKS-ready, so it integrates with NI Komplete Kontrol and Maschine hardware.
